Kimpton Miralina Resort & Villas has announced the final phase of its $70 million renovation in Paradise Valley.
The project’s second phase will introduce renovated villas, new dining concepts and additional meeting space, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2027, according to a press release. The resort will total 404 renovated guest rooms and villas, along with expanded amenities across the 40-acre property.
“Kimpton Miralina introduced a new definition of desert hospitality in Paradise Valley with an entirely original take on Sonoran-inspired design,” said Arash Azarbarzin, principal of the property’s management group Highgate. “Now with Phase Two, we complete that vision with villas, a new luxury residential experience for guests who want privacy and service in equal measure, and the arrival of Katsuya, a culinary debut Scottsdale has not seen before.”
Phase One of the project included 260 renovated guest rooms, along with new meeting spaces and amenities. Phase Two will add 134 updated Valley Villas and more than 50,000 square feet of meeting space.
The resort is organized into multiple “neighborhoods” designed to create a residential-style experience across the property. Phase Two introduces The Valley, which includes multi-level villas designed for longer stays and group visits, along with shared outdoor spaces.
The expansion also includes The Enclave, a hotel-within-a-hotel concept featuring 10 residence-style accommodations. Each unit includes expanded living space, a kitchenette and spa-style bathrooms.
The Enclave will feature a private pool complex inspired by onsen-style bathing, with amenities including warm and hot pools, a cold plunge, sauna and relaxation spaces.
A new restaurant, Katsuya, will open as part of the expansion, marking the concept’s first location in Arizona. The restaurant is part of the sbe hospitality group and will serve modern Japanese cuisine.
“Katsuya has always thrived in destinations that bring together exceptional design, culture, and hospitality,” said Sam Nazarian, founder and CEO of sbe.
“Miralina’s vision for a modern desert resort created the perfect opportunity to introduce the brand to Arizona. What makes this partnership distinct is how we’ve integrated Katsuya throughout the property, creating touchpoints in service, design, and amenities like the onsen-inspired pool and The Enclave residences that extend the Katsuya experience across the resort. We’re excited to bring that energy, culinary excellence, and global reputation to Paradise Valley.”
When complete, the resort will include six pools, 22 indoor and outdoor event venues and dining concepts led by multiple chefs.
