Gymnasts compete during the second round of the 2026 NCAA Women’s National Collegiate Gymnastics Championships, where the intensity of postseason competition sharpens at regional sites across the country.
The second round features eight teams split into two quad meets, with top-seeded programs joining first-round qualifiers in a high-stakes format that determines advancement to the regional finals.
Across the vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise, athletes deliver routines defined by power, precision and artistry, knowing only the top two teams from each session move one step closer to the national semifinals.
The round is often a turning point in the championship journey, where standout performances and narrow score margins can separate contenders from the field in one of collegiate gymnastics’ most competitive stages.
The 2026 championships began with 36 teams competing at four regional sites, with second-round action serving as a critical gateway toward the regional finals and ultimately the national championship in Fort Worth, Texas.
