Following its inaugural season, CW7 Arizona and Fiesta Sports Foundation are bringing back a season-long slate of live television broadcasts and on-site high school football activations through the Fiesta Bowl High School Football Showdown program.
The 11-game schedule features live Thursday night broadcasts on CW7 Arizona and includes four teams that competed in the 2025 Arizona Interscholastic Association Open Championship division, according to a press release.
“What we have seen in the history of the High School Football Showdown confirmed what we always believed: high school football is one of the most powerful connectors in our communities,” Erik Moses, executive director and CEO of Fiesta Sports Foundation, said. “Leaning into this program is another way Fiesta Sports Foundation invests in the next generation of Arizona athletes and showcases high school football in Arizona, which belongs on the same stage as high school football anywhere in the country.”
New this season, the final week’s matchup will be selected later in the season, providing flexibility to feature one of the state’s marquee regular-season contests.
“Together with Fiesta Sports Foundation and Sports360AZ, we’re giving Arizona’s talented student-athletes a primetime platform while celebrating the schools, families and local communities behind them,” Matthew A. Rosenfeld, senior vice president and regional manager of Nexstar Media Group, said.
“These games represent far more than what happens on the field. They capture the pride, tradition and spirit of communities across Arizona, and we’re honored to share those stories with an even broader audience.”
