RE/MAX Fine Properties announced that Don Matheson, founder of The Matheson Team, has received the RE/MAX Paramount of Excellence Award, one of the organization’s highest honors.
The award recognizes RE/MAX agents who have spent 30 years with the network and achieved $30 million in career commissions, according to a press release.
Mr. Matheson is one of 16 RE/MAX associates nationwide to receive the award.
“I’m really humbled. This really means a lot to me,” Don Matheson, founder of The Matheson Team, said. “I’ve been very proud of the brand from day one. The brand has meant a lot to me and given me a lot.”
Mr. Matheson has more than 49 years of real estate experience in Canada and the Scottsdale and Phoenix markets. Since relocating to Arizona in 1995, he and his wife, Jenny, have helped clients buy and sell more than 3,200 homes.

The award recognizes Mr. Matheson’s career accomplishments and longtime affiliation with the RE/MAX network.

Mr. Remmers said Mr. Matheson’s record of client service and industry leadership has helped shape the firm’s culture and reputation.
Mr. Matheson continues to lead a team of seven real estate professionals serving clients across the Valley. The Matheson Team was recognized as the No. 1 RE/MAX team in Arizona, No. 6 in the United States and No. 9 worldwide in 2025.
The Paramount of Excellence Award is the latest recognition in Mr. Matheson’s nearly five-decade career in real estate.
