Jersey Mike’s customers across Arizona raised nearly $44,000 during the restaurant chain’s July Round Up campaign to support pediatric patients at Valleywise Health and the Diane & Bruce Halle Arizona Burn Center.

During July, customers at participating Jersey Mike’s locations could round up their purchases or donate $1, $3 or $5 at checkout. The funds will help Valleywise Health Foundation support patient care, specialized equipment, programs and other resources for children and burn patients, according to a press release.

“Our customers and team members continue to show what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose,” Dan Brown, president of the local Jersey Mike’s franchise company that developed the campaign, said. “Every donation, no matter the size, helped create a meaningful impact for pediatric and burn patients, and we’re proud to partner with Valleywise Health Foundation.”

Franchise company owner Duane Layton said the cause holds personal significance.

“Pediatric health has always been an area our local Jersey Mike’s restaurants rally around, and this was a perfect fit since I also have a family connection to burn care and recovery,” Mr. Layton said.

Valleywise Health is Maricopa County’s public teaching health system and is home to the Diane & Bruce Halle Arizona Burn Center. The health system also includes behavioral health hospitals, federally qualified community health centers and specialized programs serving patients throughout the region.

The fundraising effort will help support programs, technology, equipment and services that benefit pediatric and burn patients, according to a press release.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Jersey Mike’s, the franchise company, and every customer who chose to round up during the campaign,” Lisa Hartsock, CEO of Valleywise Health Foundation, said. “It’s inspiring to see how small acts of generosity come together to make such a meaningful impact. This support helps provide exceptional care, comfort and hope for patients and their families when they need it most.”

Ms. Hartsock said community partnerships play an important role in helping the foundation meet patient needs and enhance care throughout the Valley.

Valleywise Health Foundation works with donors and community partners to support Arizona’s public teaching health system through philanthropic investments in programs, technology, equipment and patient services.
