Local architects, interior designers and home builders are imagining what it’s like to be in the doghouse as they create unique shelters for pups to auction during the 10th annual Design for Dogs event benefiting the Arizona Animal Welfare League this February.
The event is Friday, Feb. 23, 2024.
Ten “All Star” teams have been commissioned to design, build and donate a swanky pet palace to the Design for Dogs event, where the homes will be auctioned off and compete for ‘Best in Show.’
This year, each participating team has competed in a previous Design for Dogs event.
The money raised at this event helps AAWL, the state’s oldest and largest no-kill shelter, put a roof over more than 4,000 homeless pets’ heads each year. The proceeds from the event will fund AAWL’s life-saving programs, including low-cost vaccine clinics, rural rescue efforts, and a community vet clinic, according to a press release.
Attendees can walk through the Facings of America showroom filled with custom dog houses and bid for their favorite during the silent auction. The event will also feature music, raffle prizes, and adorable, adoptable dogs from AAWL. Ticket holders receive a ticket redeemable for two drinks provided by local vendors.
