Scottsdale Fashion Square is adding new retail tenants and continuing a renovation project at the shopping center, which was recently inducted into the Scottsdale History Hall of Fame.
The property, operated by Macerich (NYSE: MAC), now includes new BALMAIN and ZEGNA stores, along with a new Athleta location. The additions come as renovation work continues on the property, according to a press release.
“Scottsdale’s most iconic luxury retail destination has a proud history of offering the best of mix of exclusive, in-demand brands and a superior shopping experience,” said Jaymes Bell, general manager for Scottsdale Fashion Square. “We are continually working to affirm and reinforce our position as a market leader with the addition of high-profile brands like BALMAIN, ZEGNA and Athleta, as well as continued enhancements to the property itself.”
Mr. Bell said the additions and renovations are intended to maintain the center’s position in the market.
Community impact
The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce’s Scottsdale History Hall of Fame recognizes individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations that have contributed to the community. The program is in its 31st year, with 155 individuals and 35 organizations inducted.
Scottsdale Fashion Square has supported local nonprofits, arts organizations, youth programs and city initiatives through partnerships, fundraising events and volunteer efforts.
Continual reinvestment and an evolving retail mix
Renovation work is underway at the shopping center, including upgrades to the Palm Court, a central gathering space used for events and dining.
Planned improvements include updated flooring and a three-sided digital display.
The project also includes additions to the center’s food offerings, with Edo Japanese Grill now open and Bacio di Latte expected to open later this fall, serving gelato, baked goods and coffee beverages.
Three new stores have recently opened at Scottsdale Fashion Square:
*BALMAIN has opened a boutique on the first level in the luxury wing. The French fashion house, founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain, offers men’s and women’s apparel, accessories and eyewear.
*ZEGNA, also located on the first level in the luxury wing, is a global menswear brand founded in 1910. The company continues to focus on fabric innovation and modern design.
*Athleta has opened on the second level of the shopping center’s south wing. The brand offers performance apparel and is part of a broader effort to expand retail offerings at the property.
