What started as a father-and-son business in 1983 with 43 customers and one service truck, has turned into a $25 million venture with more than 200 employees boasting nearly a century of expertise and over 35,000 customers.

Burns Pest Elimination, representatives of the brand report, is celebrating 40 years in business this year and now services both Arizona and Nevada between their three locations in Mesa, Phoenix and Las Vegas.

“The family values that started this company with a goal of helping other families live comfortably year-round is what has kept us growing,” said founder Dave Burns in a prepared statement. “No matter what level an employee is at in our company, it is truly an honor for each of us to help solve pest control problems for the good of the community.”

As a now multi-generational family business – Dave’s son Cory and his nephew Austin have since joined the company – each member of the Burns family brings that familial camaraderie to the team, which has very much become a second family, employing 10 other families, which total 25 of their 200+ employee roster.

Not only does Burns manage pest control for residential properties, but their commercial clientele base is growing as well.

“Our commercial business now makes up 54% of our clientele,” Mr. Burns said.

“We have seen solid growth across a variety of industries (healthcare and industrial properties in particular), many of which are businesses relocating from other states, with whom we provide advanced technologies and service protocols that help these industry verticals meet the ever-increasing demands of today’s business climate.”
