Scottsdale City Council Election: A rundown of local issues that matter

The city of Scottsdale Tuesday, July 30, is hosting a local primary election to elect new — and perhaps returning members — to its City Council serving atop the local dais.
Leading up to this Tuesday’s primary election, the Digital Free Press offered readers candidates Q&As to offer constituents a way to understand better where these candidates for mayor and City Council stand on the local issues that matters.
In Scottsdale local voters are faced with deciding a new mayor and three members of City Council this Tuesday.
For a member to be elected to Scottsdale City Council outright in the July primary election they would have to receive the majority of ballots cast, election officials tell the Digital Free Press. For races still in contention, a general election will be held to decide those races, election officials say.
In the race for mayor of Scottsdale, there are three candidates: Lisa Borowsky, David Ortega (incumbent) and Linda Milhaven.
