OneAz Credit Union dollars help fuel vital Phoenix nonprofit efforts

OneAZ Credit Union and the OneAZ Community Foundation are awarding two new grants to Phoenix-area nonprofit organizations following a successful Giving Tuesday campaign.
The Giving Tuesday campaign raised $22,500 from member and partner donations, allowing the foundation to provide a total of six organizations with either a $5,000 or $2,500 grant, according to a press release.
Arizona Microcredit Initiative in Tempe will receive a $5,000 grant and La Mesa Ministries in Gilbert will receive a $2,500 grant, the release states.
“OneAZ is so grateful for all the members and vendor partners who stepped up to give back to Arizona this holiday season,” said Sam Wheeler, chairman of the OneAZ Community Foundation. “We raised a total of $22,500 from members across Arizona. Their generosity this holiday season will have a direct impact on the lives in our community.”

Arizona Microcredit Initiative in Tempe – $5,000. Arizona Microcredit Initiative empowers underserved entrepreneurs to start or expand businesses through consulting services, microloans and business instruction.
La Mesa Ministries in Gilbert – $2,500. La Mesa Ministries envisions a future where systemic poverty does not exist, loneliness is no longer the only option, homelessness is only a matter of choice, and the working poor find avenues to create prosperous futures for their families.
