Axiom Care is announcing Danelle Trottier as its new CEO.
Phoenix-based Axiom Care has provided behavioral health services, substance use treatment and recovery housing since 2012, according to a press release.
Ms. Trottier steps into the role after serving as chief operating officer since 2024 and brings more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health and addiction services management. During her tenure with Axiom Care, Ms. Trottier has helped oversee organizational growth, including expanded partnerships and the opening of multiple facilities addressing gaps in Arizona’s recovery system.
Under Ms. Trottier’s operational leadership, Axiom Care launched outpatient, residential and transitional housing programs across Maricopa and Pinal counties. These include Yideeską́ądi Hózhǫ́ǫ́jí Center, a partnership with the Navajo Department of Health; an expansion of the Ocotillo Campus of Care in Apache Junction with a 60-bed residential treatment center; the opening of the Axiom Care Mofford Center, an outpatient integrated clinic; and the John McCain Veterans Center at Victory Place, a transitional housing and treatment program serving low-income veterans.
The additions have positioned Axiom Care as one of Arizona’s larger providers of integrated behavioral health and recovery services, now serving thousands of individuals each year.
“Danelle is a proven leader whose experience, vision and commitment to high-quality care make her the right person to guide Axiom Care into its next chapter,” said Vern Johnson, co-founder of Axiom Care. “She understands both the complexity of the systems we operate in and the human impact of the work that we do every day.”
Before joining Axiom Care, Ms. Trottier served as senior director of operations for Native American Connections, where she was involved in developing and licensing the Patina Wellness Center and Patina Mountain Preserve. Her work emphasized culturally responsive care and community-based programming.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Trottier held leadership roles with Mountain Health and Wellness and Southwest Network, focusing on services for individuals with serious mental illness. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology from Minot State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Raised in a small farming community in North Dakota, Ms. Trottier began her career working directly with individuals and families experiencing behavioral health challenges, experience that continues to inform her leadership approach.
“If there is one thing I have learned throughout my career, it is that recovery is not one-size-fits-all, and it does not happen in isolation,” Ms. Trottier said.
“It takes access, it takes coordination, and most importantly, it takes people who are willing to show up every day with both expertise and compassion. At Axiom Care, we have built something truly special; a system of care that meets people where they are and helps them move forward with dignity. I am honored to lead this next phase of growth as we continue expanding access, strengthening partnerships and supporting our teams in delivering life-changing care across Arizona.”
