Concours in the Hills raises $467,000 for Phoenix Children’s Foundation

Staff Reports | Free Press Philanthropy

The 2026 Phoenix Children’s Concours in the Hills, held Saturday, Feb. 14, raised $467,000 for Phoenix Children’s Foundation and drew more than 50,000 spectators to Fountain Park.

Nearly 1,000 vehicles filled the park for the charity automotive event, according to a press release.

Concours in the Hills raises funds for pediatric cancer research and treatment programs, including the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Phoenix Children’s. This year’s fundraising total brings the event’s cumulative impact to more than $3 million.

The event opened with appearances by racing drivers Derek Daly, Didier Theys, Harley Cluxton and Lyn St. James.

“This was a day we’ll remember for a long time,” Founder Peter Volny said. “The turnout was incredible, the vehicles were world class, and most importantly, we raised nearly half a million dollars for kids who need it most. That’s what this event is all about, using our passion for cars to make a difference for Phoenix Children’s.”

The curated field included prewar classics, American muscle, European grand tourers, modern hypercars, motorcycles, helicopters and specialty military vehicles. Featured models included a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, the 1984 Indianapolis 500‑winning Penske PC‑9, the Ken Miles‑driven 1966 Ford GT40 Mk II Sebring winner, a one‑of‑one Shelby Cobra, a 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast and a Ford Mustang GTD valued at $450,000.

Darin Roberge of Motorwerks Companies hosted the event. Warbird flyovers also took place throughout the day.

“This event shows what’s possible when a community comes together for our patients,” Sandra Garcia, special events program manager at Phoenix Children’s, said. “Cars bring people together, but it’s the shared commitment to helping children that creates real change.”

Patients and families from Phoenix Children’s participated in the event, including a patient helicopter tour experience.

Admission remained free for attendees, with proceeds generated through vehicle registrations, sponsorships and donations.
