A New Leaf is welcoming back Arizona State University’s Alpha Chi Omega for its annual Day of Action, celebrating a partnership that has surpassed $300,000 in lifetime donations and more than 12,000 volunteer hours supporting survivors of domestic violence.

For more than a decade, Alpha Chi Omega has partnered with A New Leaf, contributing volunteer hours and raising funds for domestic violence services across Arizona. More than 150 Alpha Chi Omega members gathered at A New Leaf’s La Mesita Community Campus in Mesa for a day of volunteer service, education and advocacy. The event concluded with a check presentation recognizing the chapter’s latest gift, bringing its lifetime support beyond the $300,000 mark.

“I congratulate Alpha Chi Omega and A New Leaf on their growing collaboration to help those in need,” ASU President Michael M. Crow said. “ASU’s charter assumes responsibility for the health of the communities we serve, and Alpha Chi Omega’s dedicated work and generosity truly demonstrates that commitment.”

Nearly 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men will experience domestic violence during their lifetimes, according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, according to a press release. Community partnerships that raise awareness, provide financial support and engage volunteers can help survivors access safety, shelter and resources as they rebuild their lives.

“The women of Alpha Chi Omega have made an incredible difference for the survivors and families we serve,” Dana Martinez, director of domestic violence programming at A New Leaf, said. “Their commitment extends far beyond fundraising. They show up year after year with compassion, energy, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Their partnership gives hope to survivors today while inspiring the next generation of community leaders.”

A New Leaf officials said that continued investment helps support access to shelter, services and long-term stability for survivors and their children.
