Scottsdale-born trial attorney Tom Ajamie has announced a charitable contribution to Hospice of the Valley while continuing to expand a scholarship fund that supports Arizona students pursuing higher education.
Mr. Ajamie, a former student body president at Arizona State University whose parents and extended family still live in Scottsdale, has built a legal career focused on prosecuting complex white-collar cases. Through his philanthropic efforts, he has supported education and nonprofit services across Arizona, according to a press release.
Through the Ajamie Scholarship Fund, established in partnership with the Arizona State University Foundation, Ajamie has helped 23 students attend college. The fund focuses on students with interests in law, business and public service and is designed to reduce financial barriers to higher education.
“I was student body president at ASU, and I know firsthand how transformative that experience—and access to education—can be,” Mr. Ajamie, an attorney and founder of the Ajamie Scholarship Fund, said. “If you can change one student’s trajectory, you can change an entire family’s future. Being able to help 23 students earn a college education is something I’m incredibly proud of, and it’s just the beginning.”
In addition to his scholarship efforts, Ajamie has committed $25,000 to Hospice of the Valley. The nonprofit provides end-of-life care, grief counseling and support services across Arizona regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
His donation comes as Hospice of the Valley prepares for a signature fundraising event aimed at expanding access to compassionate care and strengthening services for patients and families throughout the region.
“Organizations like Hospice of the Valley provide dignity, compassion, and humanity at life’s most critical moments,” Ajamie added. “Supporting their work is not just important—it’s essential.”
By supporting educational opportunities and end-of-life care, Ajamie’s philanthropy spans multiple stages of life, addressing both long-term opportunity and immediate community needs.
Hospice of the Valley’s upcoming event is expected to draw community leaders and supporters focused on advancing nonprofit services across Arizona.
