The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Women in Leadership luncheon, presented by HonorHealth, featuring speaker, author and women’s empowerment mentor Shannan Kym from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, at Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas, 6333 N. Scottsdale Road.
Designed to encourage leadership development and professional growth, Women in Leadership brings together women from across the region to explore leadership journeys, build connections and support one another in their personal and professional lives.
“We are thrilled to welcome Shannan Kym to our Women in Leadership stage,” Stephanie Miller, director of programs and events for the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce, said. “Shannan’s Focus Forward Leadership experience meets women where they are and helps them move from feeling stuck to leading with greater vision, purpose, and direction. Attendees will leave with renewed focus, a personal leadership statement, and a clear commitment to action.”
Ms. Kym is an award-winning author, professional speaker and transformational mentor focused on personal development.
Drawing from her own life experiences, Kym teaches and guides individuals seeking to move beyond limiting beliefs, establish a new direction and pursue their goals with greater clarity and purpose.
In 2019, Ms. Kym overcame alcoholism while confronting the effects of childhood physical and emotional abuse. She has said that recognizing the negative identity she carried for decades did not belong to her but to her abusers helped her break generational patterns, improve her life and support others pursuing personal change.
During her interactive Focus Forward Leadership keynote, Ms. Kym will guide participants through three steps: identifying what they want personally, professionally and financially; writing a leadership statement that defines what they will and will not stand for; and committing to a meaningful goal with a timeline for action.
