The Phoenix Theatre Company presents ‘Cabaret,’ directed by Artistic Director Michael Barnard, set to open Wednesday, July 31, in downtown Phoenix.
Narrated by a mischievous master of ceremonies, Cabaret invites you into the intoxicating world of the Kit Kat Klub. Here, a struggling American writer finds his muse in the vivacious English singer, Sally Bowles. As the ominous shadow of the Third Reich rises, the Klub’s eclectic cast of characters must confront the looming darkness or continue to lose themselves in the tantalizing allure of the cabaret.
Featuring iconic songs such as “Don’t Tell Mama,” “Maybe this Time”, and the titular “Cabaret,” this production is set to deliver a dynamic and poignant portrayal of a city on the brink.
Artistic Director Michael Barnard’s vision brings a fresh yet faithful take on this classic masterpiece, ensuring an unforgettable theatrical experience.
“Cabaret is a remarkable blend of haunting storytelling, comedic moments, and breathtaking music,” Mr. Barnard said in a prepared statement.
“Amidst the gravity of the story, the infusion of humor provides a delicate balance, offering moments of levity and connection. And, of course, the music ties everything together, delivering an emotional and unforgettable experience that will resonate deeply with our audience.”
