Angry Crab Shack, the Mesa-based seafood chain founded by former NFL star Ron Lou in 2013, is bringing its Asian-Cajun flavors to Atlanta, Georgia, in the fall of 2022, and Seattle, Washington, early in 2023.
The restaurants, which are set to open in the heart of Atlanta’s Midtown area and Greater Seattle, are kickstarting growth beyond Arizona as the restaurant seeks loftier, international expansion plans: Angry Crab Shack is seeking to open its first-ever location in the United Kingdom, according to a press release.
The ambitions don’t stop there, officials contend, as the chain seeks to have 100 stores open and operating by 2025.
Locations in Arizona include Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix, San Tan Valley, Goodyear, Peoria, Surprise, Casa Grande, Tucson, Yuma, and, coming soon to Tempe.
There are also restaurants in Alabama, Nevada and Texas.
Former NFL player Ron Lou spent four years in the league with the Houston Oilers than the Philadelphia Eagles. During the next 35 years, he created five different restaurant concepts, including a breakfast concept, a sports bar, and three different Chinese restaurants. Ready for another success, Lou set out to create something unique – not just another wing, burger, or pizza place.
Combining bold flavors in Asian food with his knowledge of seafood, Lou launched Angry Crab Shack in 2013 in Mesa. A family-friendly neighborhood restaurant, Angry Crab Shack offers a vibrant, memorable dining environment and high-quality seafood at a more affordable price.
