Swire Coca-Cola, USA has opened a new distribution facility in Mesa to support growing demand across the Phoenix metropolitan area.
The company, which bottles and distributes Coca-Cola and other beverage brands across a 13-state region in the western United States, marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by company leaders and city officials, according to a press release.
The 241,000-square-foot facility employs approximately 100 people and expands Swire Coca-Cola’s footprint in the region, joining existing operations in Glendale and Tempe.
“We are pleased that this new distribution facility in Mesa will help us serve customers and consumers on the fast-growing east side of Phoenix,” said Andrea Kendell, president and CEO of Swire Coca-Cola, USA. “Expanding our footprint in the Phoenix metro area to a third location — alongside our facilities in Glendale and Tempe — reflects the vibrancy and opportunity in this community. I would like to thank the City of Mesa for its support, as well as the Swire Coca-Cola team that helped bring this facility online.”
“Swire Coca-Cola’s decision to locate in Mesa says a lot about where our city is headed,” said Mayor Mark Freeman. “This is a company people know and trust — Coca-Cola is part of everyday life, from family dinners to community events — and we’re proud they’ve chosen to invest here. I appreciate the work of our economic development team and the many individuals who helped make this project possible.”
The Mesa facility will distribute a range of beverages produced by Swire Coca-Cola, USA, including Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Powerade, smartwater, Gold Peak Tea, Monster Energy and Core Power.
“Southeast Mesa continues to see growth, and this facility aligns well with that momentum,” said Scott Somers, Mesa vice mayor. “With access to major transportation corridors and a strong regional customer base, this project supports the continued development of this area as an important employment center.”
