Scottsdale City Council candidates confirmed for live debate Sept. 29

The Arizona Digital Free Press is hosting a moderated debate between Scottsdale City Council candidates Pamela Carter and Barry Graham from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
The forum will focus on key issues facing the municipality and where these candidates stand on those issues. The live debate will provide an opportunity for Scottsdale voters one last glimpse into who could fill the last renaming seat atop City Council. The forum will be moderated by Digital Free Press founder & Scottsdale Daily Beat Editor Terrance Thornton.
Scottsdale primary election unofficial results at the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office show Councilwomen Kathy Littlefield and Solange Whitehead have been elected outright. Those results will be ratified Monday, Aug. 22, during a regular meeting scheduled for Scottsdale City Council, records show.
Ms. Carter and Mr. Graham both commanded strong voting tallies at the primary election, unofficial results show.
The Scottsdale general election, where either candidate can be elected to serve a four-year term at City Hall, is Tuesday, Nov. 8. Earlier this week, the Scottsdale City Clerk’s Office offered residents a breakdown of important dates leading up to the general election.
Key dates to remember for the Nov. 8 general election:
- Tuesday, Oct. 11: Last day to register for the general election
- Wednesday, Oct. 12: Ballots mailed to every registered voter; voting centers open and drop boxes available
- Friday, Oct. 28: Last day to request a ballot by mail
- Tuesday, Nov. 1: Recommended last day to mail completed ballot
- Tuesday, Nov. 8: Election Day
