Scottsdale provides insight into Graham vs Carter November showdown

The Tuesday, Aug. 2, Scottsdale primary election’s unofficial results at the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office show Councilwomen Kathy Littlefield and Solange Whitehead have been elected outright.
Through the Scottsdale Update digital newsletter, Scottsdale city officials say it is likely, according to unofficial voting results, one City Council seat remains open and will be decided at the Tuesday, Nov. 8, general election.
According to the latest update, which took place Monday, Aug. 8, at the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office, unofficial Scottsdale City Council primary election results show Kathy Littlefield, Solange Whitehead and Barry Graham still in the lead at the primary election.

- LITTLEFIELD, KATHY 36,879 22%
- WHITEHEAD, SOLANGE 31,646 19%
- GRAHAM, BARRY 27,180 16%
- CARTER, PAMELA 22,731 13%
- STRATTON, TIM 18,830 11%
- ZUBIA, RAOUL 17,681 10%
- ISHAC, DANIEL 15,046 9%
The next two candidates — Barry Graham and Pamela Carter — with the highest number of votes will advance to the November general election, with the candidate receiving the majority of votes cast being elected and taking office in January 2023. Based on current election results, Scottsdale City Council candidates Mr. Graham and Ms. Carter would advance to the November general election.
City officials report the Scottsdale City Clerk’s Office will receive final election results from the county today, Tuesday, Aug. 9, whereas City Council is set to canvass the vote at an Aug. 22 meeting at City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
