Borowsky vs Ortega run-off is official as 2 Scottsdale City Council seats now in play

With nearly all ballots tabulated by Maricopa County in Scottsdale’s July 30 primary election, the race for Scottsdale mayor will be a runoff between Lisa Borowsky and David Ortega at the Tuesday, Nov. 5, general election.
Based on the current election results from Maricopa County, candidate Jan Dubauskas has been elected at the primary and will take office in January 2025. Two council seats remain to be filled at the November 2024 general election.
The next four candidates with the highest number of votes will advance to the November general election, with the two candidates receiving the most votes cast being elected and taking office in January 2025.
Based on current election results, Scottsdale City Council candidates Tammy Caputi, Tom Durham, Adam Kwasman and Maryann McAllen will advance to the November general election.
The race for Scottsdale City Council featured nine candidates, two incumbents seeking three seats up for grabs atop the local governing board. Those candidates are:

- Jan Dubauskas
- Tom Durham
- Mason Gates
- Adam Kwasman
- Justin Laos
- Robert “Bob” Lettieri
- Maryann McAllen
The Digital Free Press is hosting two (2) general election debates — one that will feature candidates for City Council, the other a focus on candidates for the position of mayor. Each debate will be streamed and air live on cable access television:
- Scottsdale City Council candidates who emerge from the existing field of nine (9) will face-off during a debate hosted from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
- Scottsdale mayoral candidates who emerge from the existing field of three (3) will face-off during a debate hosted from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
