A Valley healthcare system serving more than five million people in the Phoenix metropolitan area broke ground yesterday on its latest state-of-the-art facility — the HonorHealth Medical Campus at Peoria.
The new medical campus will be a one-stop-shop for a variety of services including cancer care, primary care, physical therapy, gastroenterology, breast surgery, outpatient surgery, medical imaging, according to a press release.
The 100,000 square foot medical facility will be built on the east side of the Loop 101 on 83rd Avenue, between Thunderbird and Bell roads, according to a press release.
“With multiple specialties located on the same campus, patients will benefit from increased access to specialists and seamless coordination across the care continuum,” said Todd LaPorte, HonorHealth CEO, in a prepared statement. “We are excited to bring high quality healthcare services to the residents of Peoria and the surrounding communities through this new facility.”
Peoria Mayor Jason Beck, who attened the Nov. 15 groundbreaking ceremony lauded the investment in the local community.
“This is a win-win development for Peoria,” He said. “HonorHealth not only brings high-quality employment to our community, but also provides close-to-home access to a variety of medical care services for our residents.”
HonorHealth officials tell the Arizona Digital Free Press the project is expected to be completed in 2025.
