Arizona Science Center has named Miesha Stoute, president of Universal Laser Systems Inc. and a member of the Arizona Science Center board of trustees, as chair of its 2026 Galaxy Gala.
The Galaxy Gala is the organization’s annual fundraising event supporting science education, innovation and access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics programming across Arizona, according to a press release.
The event is Arizona Science Center’s largest philanthropic fundraiser of the year and brings together community leaders, advocates and supporters to promote STEM learning. The 2026 gala will be chaired by Ms. Stoute.
“Miesha’s leadership, vision, and dedication to STEM education have made her an invaluable member of our community,” said Tammy Stewart, interim Hazel A. Hare president and CEO of Arizona Science Center. “Her commitment to empowering future scientists and innovators aligns beautifully with the mission of the Galaxy Gala. We are honored to have her lead this event.”
Ms. Stoute serves as president of Universal Laser Systems Inc., a global manufacturer of laser material processing technology. In her role, she oversees strategic direction, operations and technology development. Prior to becoming president, she held leadership positions in global sales, marketing and service at the company.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Stoute held roles at Nortel and Motorola, where she gained experience in the technology sector.
Ms. Stoute has served on the Arizona Science Center board of trustees since 2017. She holds multiple patents in laser technology and earned a Bachelor of Science in computer systems engineering from Arizona State University.
“Arizona’s future depends on how we inspire and prepare the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders,” Ms. Stoute said. “As Chair of the 2026 Galaxy Gala, I’m proud to help strengthen partnerships that bridge education, industry, and innovation across our state.”
