Buckles & Bangels Gala provides critical fundraising for UMOM pursuit

UMOM New Day Centers —- a provider of shelter, housing, and supportive services for single women and families in Maricopa County —- is announcing the 14th annual Buckles & Bangles Gala Friday, Oct. 13, at Copper Canyon at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.
UMOM New Day Centers has been leading the efforts in the metropolitan Phoenix community to end homelessness since 1964.
UMOM’s mission is to restore hope, rebuild lives and end homelessness by providing emergency shelter, supportive services, and affordable housing. UMOM also operates the Family Housing Hub, the coordinated entry point in Maricopa County for all families experiencing homelessness. Last year UMOM served nearly 16,000 people, UMOM representatives tell the Arizona Digital Free Press.

The Buckles & Bangles western-themed al fresco event promises to be a celebration with compassion and hope as guests gather for a unique and inspiring program celebrating a former UMOM family’s successful journey out of homelessness — while enjoying live entertainment, dancing, and the thrill of bidding on live and silent auction items.
“Since 2021 there has been a 40% increase in homelessness in the Phoenix metro area and the waitlist to get into UMOM’s emergency shelter is more than eight weeks,” said Kristen Campbell, Buckles & Bangles event chair. “Raising significant funds at this year’s event is more important than ever before.”
