Drunk Christmas Carol, presented by the Drunk Shakespeare Society, will bring a comedic twist on Charles Dickens’ holiday classic to Phoenix for a limited engagement at The Rose Theatre from Nov. 12, 2026, through Jan. 3, 2027.
Tickets are on sale for the production, which combines comedy, audience participation and themed cocktails. One actor takes five shots of whiskey before attempting to retell A Christmas Carol, while the rest of the cast works to keep the performance on track. The show incorporates improvisation and audience interaction, creating a different experience each night, according to a press release.
When the holiday season’s most famous miser is visited by three ghosts, the story unfolds through a mix of scripted scenes and unscripted moments as cast members respond to the increasingly unpredictable performance.
“We’re bringing a little holiday mischief to a story audiences know and love,” David Hudsom, co-creator of the Drunk Shakespeare Society, said. “With an unpredictable performance and plenty of opportunities for the audience to join the fun, every night is a different way to celebrate the season.”
Audience members can purchase holiday-themed cocktails, including The Caroler’s Kiss, Three Spirits Punch and The Sleigh Queen, during performances.
Craft cocktails and snacks also will be available for purchase throughout the run. Guests seeking an upgraded experience can purchase the North Pole Royalty VIP package, which includes premium seating, a bottle of champagne, two handcrafted cocktails, holiday-themed treats and opportunities for audience participation. The package is priced at $500 for two guests.
