Earlier this month the 65th annual Phoenix Heart Ball committee convened at the iconic Wrigley Mansion Club, bringing together 100 members for a momentous luncheon meeting, generously underwritten by committee member Jamie Hormel.
Led by Chairperson Pamela Risoleo, this year’s Heart Ball will be an unforgettable occasion as this year’s celebration marks both the 100th anniversary of the American Heart Association — and the 65th anniversary of the Phoenix Heart Ball.
“My gratitude for the unwavering commitment of committee members to support AHA’s noble cause is immeasurable,” Ms. Risoleo said in her opening remarks.
The Phoenix Heart Ball Committee — which consists of 100 outstanding women from various sectors and invited every year by the chair — reflects a shared dedication to making a difference in the community.
During the meeting, past Heart Ball Chair Christine Gustafson received “The 100 Years of AHA Centennial Award” for her 32 years of service, highlighting the enduring impact of the Heart Ball and AHA’s mission. Committee member Catherine Tuton’s heartfelt personal story of suffering a heart attack served as a poignant reminder of the importance of the cause and the passion it ignites.
A symbolic gesture, the unveiling of a grand ceremonial cake, encapsulated the rich legacy and enduring impact of both AHA and the Phoenix Heart Ball.
Exciting updates on the event’s preparations were shared, including the near sell-out status of the Golf tournament scheduled for Oct. 30 at Starfire Golf Resort with sponsorships still available, and the generous underwriting of Ball favors by Lerner and Rowe, and invitations by Prisma.

Neiman Marcus’s full support for the annual addressing luncheon fashion show on Sept. 27 at the Phoenician Resort promises an engaging experience for attendees and will raise funds for the ball.
With a focus on celebrating traditions while advancing AHA’s critical mission, this year’s Heart Ball is poised to make a significant monetary impact. Since its inception, the Phoenix Heart Ball has raised over $51 million, with operational expenses generously covered by donations, ensuring that every dollar from ticket sales directly contributes to AHA’s vital programs.
Importantly, a substantial portion of the funds raised remains within the local community, supporting preventative and instructional programs, as well as research efforts to combat heart disease and stroke.
The 65th annual Phoenix Heart Ball is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Phoenician Resort and Spa.
The committee remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering an exceptional event that not only commemorates significant milestones but also furthers the critical mission of the American Heart Association.
