Five years after serving in the U.S. Navy, Arizona resident Conner Hobusch has built a career as a technician with Semper Fi Heating & Cooling through the Department of Defense SkillBridge program.
The SkillBridge program provides service members opportunities to gain civilian work experience through industry training, apprenticeships and internships during the final 180 days of military service, according to a press release.
During the last months of his active-duty service, Hobusch trained alongside the team at Semper Fi Heating & Cooling, a veteran-owned and operated company based in Arizona.
Through hands-on experience, mentorship and industry training, he earned professional licenses and secured a full-time position with the company after leaving the military. Today, he is among the veterans who have participated in the SkillBridge program through the company.
“One of the best parts of being a veteran-owned company is helping other veterans like Connor find their next mission,” John Coppinger of Semper Fi Heating & Cooling said. “Programs like SkillBridge not only help service members build stable careers, but also provide support, purpose, and long-term opportunities after military service.”
