Mesa City Council hosted its final regular meeting at the existing City Council chambers at 57 E. First Street as city officials tell the Digital Free Press elected leaders will be moving into new digs in the New Year.
Mesa City Council hosted its final meeting at East First Street chambers Monday, Nov. 18 where residents came to speak out about changes to municipal fees effecting household costs for day-to-day services.
According to published reports, Mesa city leaders are constructing new City Council chambers at Main and Center streets in downtown Mesa.
Mesa City Hall leaders offer a snapshot of Mesa City Council: The city of Mesa operates under a charter form of government whereas residents elect an at-large mayor meanwhile six other elected leaders represent districts of the community.
Members of Mesa City Council serve four-year terms with staggered election cycles allowing three members to be elected every 24 months. The vice mayor is selected internally by members of City Council.
