Canal Convergence runs in downtown Scottsdale through Nov. 12

The lights, fire and action of Canal Convergence 2023 presented by Scottsdale Arts is in full bloom in downtown Scottsdale.
Running through Sunday, Nov. 12, Canal Convergence by Scottsdale Arts offers spectators light-based interactive artworks providing an artistic anchor accompanied this year by more than 100 creative workshops and eclectic performances. Admission is free to the public.

Dennis Robbins, who serves as chairman of the Scottsdale Arts Board of Directors, offered praise for the new configuration and interactive installation unfolding along the canal in downtown Scottsdale.
“I really enjoyed the new Canal Convergence set up,” he told the Arizona Digital Free Press Tuesday, Nov. 7. following opening weekend. “The additional art displays on the water are beautiful. I like the beer garden approach near the Solari bridge as it really brought energy and excitement that was contagious — this is a must-see experience.”
With the introduction, and immediate success of the Dreamy Draw Festival, Scottsdale Arts CEO Gerd Wuestemann is seeing his vision unfold.
“I feel privileged every day to live in a such an amazing community that has such amazing support for the arts from city staff to city leadership to our elected officials,” Mr. Wuestemann said opening night.
Canal Convergence, which also features a live music schedule, is a 10-night public art event that takes over the Scottsdale Waterfront providing entirely outdoor, immersive event features large-scale, light-based artworks.
Scottsdale Arts officials report the large-scale public artworks created by local, national, and international artists will illuminate the Scottsdale Waterfront each evening, 6-9 p.m., through Sunday, Nov. 12.
