Patrons of the arts, community leaders and dignitaries will descend on the Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Ave., to raise funds benefiting exhibitions, education programs, and vital operations at the art museum of the Valley.
This January, the Phoenix Art Museum’s signature annual fundraiser, The pARTy, will kick off its widely anticipated exhibition, “MOVE: The Modern Cut of Geoffrey Beene,” according to a press release.
The intimate evening will transform the Museum’s Cummings Great Hallamme Hall into a spectacular entertainment venue. The attire is cocktail and event chairs are Ellen and Howard Katz.
“MOVE: The Modern Cut of Geoffrey Beene” is organized by Phoenix Art Museum with the support of Authentic Brands Group, LLC. It is made possible through the generosity of Ellen and Howard C. Katz, Miriam and Yefim Sukhman, KJZZ, Arizona Costume Institute, and the Kelly Ellman Fashion Design Endowment Fund, with additional support from Kimpton Hotel Palomar and the Museum’s Circles of Support and Museum Members.
Phoenix Art Museum to honor Patsy Tarr
During the evening, Phoenix Art Museum representatives will honor Patsy Tarr, president of the 2wice Arts Foundation and the founder and publisher of 2wice magazines and books, who gifted more 300 custom-made Geoffrey Beene ensembles to the Museum in 2020, helping to establish Phoenix Art Museum as one of the nation’s leading institutions with holdings of Beene’s designs, now housed in the institution’s Geoffrey Beene Archive.
The Phoenix Art Museum pARTy will feature:
- Cocktails in the Katz Wing for Modern Art,
- Dinner in Cummings Great Hall,
- Dessert and dancing,
- Live entertainment,
- Valet parking, and
- Cocktail attire.
The event begins 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at the Phoenix Art Museum. All proceeds from The pARTy benefit exhibitions, education programs and vital operations at Phoenix Art Museum.
