As Scottsdale Unified School District celebrates its 130th anniversary, the district reported strong performance in Arizona’s latest school accountability ratings, with 24 of its 29 brick-and-mortar schools earning an “A” grade from the Arizona State Board of Education.

Five schools received a “B” rating and one earned a “C” under the state’s 2025-26 A-F School Letter Grades system. The accountability model measures student achievement and academic growth, English learner progress, attendance, college and career readiness, and other indicators, according to a press release.

Among the district’s highest-scoring schools were Redfield Elementary School, which posted a score of 99.59, followed by Kiva Elementary School at 98.35, Cheyenne Traditional School at 97.87 and Chaparral High School at 97.46. Fourteen Scottsdale Unified schools received scores in the 90s.

Three middle schools also improved their performance ratings. Mohave Middle School, Ingleside Middle School and Mountainside Middle School each raised their letter grades to an “A.”

“Our 130-year legacy is built on generations of students, educators, families and community members who believe in the power of education,” Dr. Scott Menzel, superintendent of Scottsdale Unified School District, said. “These results reflect the incredible work happening across our schools every day and our continued commitment to providing students with the opportunities and support they need to succeed.”
