Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona recently hosted its annual fundraising gala — An Evening of Goodwill — at the Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia.

The event was attended by over 300 community supporters and raised more than $470,000 in support of Goodwill’s mission, services, programs, and sustainability initiatives in Arizona, according to a press release.

“We welcome changemakers from across the state to join us on our mission to strengthen Arizona’s communities by tackling poverty head-on with social services that empower individuals and strengthen families,” said Tim O’Neal, president and CEO of Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona.

“Goodwill goes beyond being just a thrift store. Our career service programs and other initiatives like The Excel Center and the Hope & Home Shelter Program help break down barriers and support our vision of ending poverty through the power of work.”

Distinguished guests including Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego came together to enjoy fine dining, a one-of-a-kind upcycled fashion show featuring local designers and their eco-friendly, upcycled fashions, and the opportunity to visit the ShopGoodwill Boutique, stocked with nearly 1,000 unique items including jewelry, clothing, handbags, and more.

Guest speakers Edwond Villegas, Tosha Franklin, and Mitzi Cleveland shared the impact of Goodwill’s mission, inspiring attendees with stories from individuals who benefit from its programs, and encouraged the growth of community impact initiatives to help people build pathways out of poverty.

The annual celebration attracted leading sponsors including Pepsi, Red Mountain Group Inc., De Rito Partners, Cigna Healthcare, Benefit Commerce Group, Greenberg Traurig, HonorHealth, Board Developer, Commit Agency, and InBusiness Magazine.
