The Refrigeration School in Phoenix is celebrating 60 years of educating the next generation of skilled trade professionals.
Operated by StrataTech Education Group, RSI provides training in welding, HVAC, refrigeration and electrical, according to a press release.
Founded in 1965 to support a growing manufacturing and infrastructure boom, RSI remains a crucial player in workforce development. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts Arizona will have an average of 663,500 trade job openings annually for the next ten years, the release states.
“We are very proud of everything we have built since opening our doors 60 years ago,” says Mary Kelly, CEO and president of StrataTech Education Group. “We are not only the largest accredited welding and HVAC school in the nation, but we are also a large employer of Arizona residents. We have hundreds of employees here in the Valley and we are training the next generation of trade workers to serve the community with their skills and help build a strong Arizona economy.”
StrataTech has also made strides through their StrataSkills program which trains and upskills employees in several of the nation’s largest companies.
StrataSkills tailors training programs for organizations of all kinds to ensure their employees meet the demands of the community while teaching the latest skills in welding, HVAC or electrical.
“Our goals are the same today as in 1965, equip graduates with leading industry trade skills so they can enter successful, lifechanging careers that help meet Arizonan’s important demands,” adds David Eaker, RSI campus president. “We are proud of the impact RSI has made and look forward to continuing our mission in the years to come.”
