An Army vs. Navy polo match won’t be the only salute to service at the Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships Saturday, Nov. 7, at WestWorld of Scottsdale.
Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction and Phoenix philanthropists Andrew and Amy Cohn are offering free admission to Maricopa County firefighters and their families, while Vet Tix will provide 250 general admission tickets to veterans and currently serving military members.
The free-admission offer from Barrett-Jackson and the Cohns was extended to 6,000 firefighters across Maricopa County. The Vet Tix partnership comes days before Veterans Day and coincides with the Semper Fi Heating and Cooling Military Matchup between Army and Navy, according to a press release.
“Having firefighters, veterans and military members here with their families will add something special to an already big day for us,” Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships General Manager Mary Turner said. “These people spend an incredible amount of time serving others, and we’re grateful to Barrett-Jackson, Andrew and Amy Cohn, and Vet Tix for helping us welcome them to our 15th anniversary.”
Andrew and Amy Cohn have supported several organizations and causes, including providing clothing for women served by UMOM New Day Centers and supporting the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Barrett-Jackson also has supported military causes through fundraising at its annual January auction and has participated in the Scottsdale Polo Party. It will return this year as part of Prime, a Luxury Tent Experience by Bentley Scottsdale, Neiman Marcus, Barrett-Jackson and Maple & Ash.
Vet Tix provides event tickets to currently serving military members and veterans from every branch, as well as immediate family members of troops killed in action.
The Semper Fi Heating and Cooling Military Matchup begins at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, concluding a three-match polo schedule that begins at noon with New Orleans Polo Club vs. Arizona Polo Club. The England Select Polo Team will face the Dark Horse Dallas All-Stars at 2 p.m.
