Business Case for Mental Health event hosted by Scottsdale Area Chamber

Join the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce us for an event on Wednesday, Sept. 27, designed to help you understand the legal and economic benefits of prioritizing mental health in your organization.
“A healthy workplace is the foundation of thriving organizations and healthier communities,” said Mark Stanton, president and CEO of the Scottsdale Chamber. “By removing the stigmas associated with behavioral health, and being proactive in awareness and education, we have an opportunity to make mental health and well-being a priority in our workplaces.”

The program begins with a workshop titled “Mental Health: Legal Obligations in the Workplace,” hosted by Taylor Secemski, managing attorney of legal training and content development at the employers council, which will provide an overview of the legal issues surrounding mental health in the workplace, helping employers comply with legal requirements, and mitigate potential risk.
That will be followed by a panel discussion titled: “Mental Health: Best Practices and Reducing the Stigma in the Workplace,” featuring industry experts who will share insights on the benefits of prioritizing mental health in the workplace. Attendees will gain best practices that can be applied at their businesses immediately. The panelists will be:
- Bill Southwick, CEO at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital;
- Alex Stavros, CEO at Embark Behavioral Health; and
- Tina Thornton, Associate Vice President of Wellbeing and Safety at Nationwide Insurance.
The event will conclude with a VIP Reception for sponsors and VIP ticket holders. This will give attendees an opportunity to ask questions specific to their business in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
Members are $30 for the Workshop & Panel Discussion or $50 for both events plus the VIP reception; non-members are $40 or $70 respectively.
