Irish, Maxwell and Stephenson honored for tireless commitment to community

The spirit of leadership is alive and well in the community of Scottsdale.
An estimated 400 local dignitaries — proprietors, politicians and movers and shakers — attended the Friday, Dec. 8, Spirit of Community Leadership Awards presented by Scottsdale Leadership.
Leaders of the Scottsdale community came to Fairmont Scottsdale Princess to celebrate a trio of community stewards serving their local neighborhoods, public education and civic institutions each in their own meaningful ways.
Those honored at the 2023 Spirit of Community Leadership awards were:
- Christine Irish, director of public affairs at the DC Ranch Community Council, was presented the Drinkwater Community Leadership Award;
- Kevin Maxwell, technical analyst at State Farm Insurance, was presented the Hodges Alumni Achievement Award; and
- Alex Stephenson, of Saguaro High School, was the recipient of the Bill Jenkins Youth Leadership Award.
