In preparation of its black-tie gala, the 65th annual Phoenix Heart Ball committee stamped and sealed invitations at The Phoenician Resort and Spa on Sept. 27.

The annual tradition, Phoenix Heart Ball representatives tell the Digital Free Press, is referred to as the ‘Addressing Luncheon’ whereas after preparing the mailings, the team of over 100 women enjoyed a luncheon in the ballroom — and a private fashion show by Neiman Marcus.

Tim Braun, the vice president and general manager at Neiman Marcus Scottsdale, was in attendance with his team as he has been supporting the Phoenix Heart Ball for more than 20 years.

“He always has a smile, his energy is contagious, and he gives back because he probably has the biggest heart of anybody in this room,” said 2024 Heart Ball Chairman Pam Risoleo in her remarks of gratitude for Mr. Braun.

Also in attendance were at least 16 former Heart Ball chairmen who are still active members of the committee. Ms. Risoleo has made a point to incorporate them and their dedication into the theme of this year’s ball which is “Celebrating Traditions.”

Donated items of note at the luncheon’s raffle this year included a Cartier watch, diamond jewelry, an original piece of art by Laura Madden, hotel packages from Host Hotels, a wine collection, a Tom Ford watch and clutch, restaurant experiences, a Prada wallet, Valentino leather goods, a Franzi handbag, and many more generous contributions from the community.

This year’s Heart Ball is poised to make a significant monetary impact, representatives contend.

Since its inception, the Phoenix Heart Ball has raised over $51 million, with operational expenses generously covered by donations, ensuring that every dollar from ticket sales directly contributes to AHA’s vital programs. Importantly, a substantial portion of the funds raised remains within the local community, supporting preventative and instructional programs, as well as research efforts to combat heart disease and stroke.

The 65th Annual Phoenix Heart Ball is Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Phoenician Resort and Spa.
