Mesquite Fresh Street Mex is renewing sponsorship of Grand Canyon University for 2026.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, the Mexican restaurant’s partnership with the university will now have a charitable twist – the restaurant and school are teaming up to host fundraising activations at various Mesquite locations throughout the school year.
Mesquite will continue to support students and faculty through catering all sporting events, family nights, and other student activities on campus.
GCU’s students and staff will continue to receive 10% off orders at all ten of Mesquite’s Valley locations through presentation of a valid school ID at check-out, according to a press release.
“We are thrilled to partner with Grand Canyon University once more, and excited to collaborate with the school to uplift nonprofits that are performing great work in the community,” said Ahmad Alatrash, co-founder of Mesquite Fresh Street Mex. “It is also our pleasure to fuel the great minds at GCU.”
The schedule for fundraisers throughout the 2026 school year will be published on the Mesquite Fresh Street Mex and GCU websites once finalized.
Mesquite’s latest charitable partnership follows a pattern of giving that has defined the brand, with recent nonprofit beneficiaries including The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2024, the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center during April, which is Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital for a Day of Giving on May 9, the release states.
“Just as Mesquite Fresh Street Mex is dedicated to communities across Arizona, so is GCU. By fostering tailored partnerships with brands like them, we can ensure GCU’s continued positive influence on all our programs,” said GCU Vice President of Advancement Dr. Kale Gober. “Mesquite Fresh Street Mex will continue to fuel the Lopes with fresh and authentic food options for students, alumni, and employees, fresh from their signature mesquite grill.”
