HonorHealth is marking 20 years of service at Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center. The milestone recognizes two decades of care for North Scottsdale residents and outlines plans for the hospital’s next phase.
In 2005, the Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved the vision and zoning for Thompson Peak, a full-service hospital designed to meet the needs of a growing North Scottsdale community, according to a press release.
Today, the hospital is recognized for safety, quality and patient experience, including Medicare five-star quality ratings, Leapfrog “A” safety grades, a U.S. News & World Report High Performing Hospital designation, and Magnet recognition for nursing excellence, the release states.
“Twenty years ago, our community leaders and neighbors placed their trust in us to create a hospital that would serve North Scottsdale for generations,” said Jose Romo, vice president and hospital administrator at HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center. “As we honor that commitment today, we are preparing for the future by responsibly building on our original agreement with the city to ensure our high-quality care and breadth of services remain accessible for decades to come.”
The hospital’s next phase includes construction of a patient care building with 56 additional beds, operating rooms and medical office space.
“As Scottsdale’s hometown healthcare provider for more than 60 years, HonorHealth has always planned ahead to meet community needs,” said Todd LaPorte, CEO of HonorHealth. “This next chapter at Thompson Peak reflects both our responsibility to the city and our promise to provide exceptional care to the patients and families who count on us.”
