Gretchen Caraway named Phoenix Rescue Mission chief program officer

Phoenix Rescue Mission has appointed Gretchen Caraway as its new chief program officer.

Ms. Caraway is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in governmental relations, business development, policy administration, and asset management. Over the course of a diverse career spanning more than 25 years, she has cultivated expertise in stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and community outreach, deliver positive, measurable results across public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

“We are excited to welcome Gretchen as our new Chief Program Officer,” said Phoenix Rescue Mission CEO Ken Brissa, in a prepared statement.

“Her impressive career track record and commitment to giving back to our community makes her the perfect addition to the Phoenix Rescue Mission executive leadership team. We are excited to see Gretchen’s innovative ideas come to life, helping bolster our programming and ultimately serve more of our neighbors in need.”

In just one of her many diverse leadership roles prior to joining Phoenix Rescue Mission, Gretchen served as director of government relations, business development and project oversight for Maximus US Services. In her role at Maximus, she led the company’s government relations efforts in Arizona.

“I could not be more grateful and excited to join Phoenix Rescue Mission, especially given its incredibly strong and lengthy history of serving people in the Valley in so many critical ways, each of which epitomizes ‘Love your Neighbor’ at its core,” Ms. Caraway said. “I am deeply honored to join such an impressive team of people with service in their hearts and so many years of success in doing life-changing work for so many.”

Ms. Caraway’s private-sector background also encompasses a wide array of different fields, including 15 years in commercial real estate, during which time she served as an asset and leasing manager of multiple office and industrial projects in Phoenix and Washington, D.C.
