Chamber of commerce inducts 6 into Scottsdale History Hall of Fame

The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed six distinguished members of the local community into the Scottsdale History Hall of Fame during a ceremony held Tuesday, May 7, at The Scottsdale Resort and Spa.

The event was presented by the Scottsdale Charros.

The Scottsdale History Hall of Fame continues to recognize the exceptional contributions of individuals and organizations that have shaped Scottsdale’s heritage and development.

This year’s induction celebrated six outstanding honorees whose unwavering dedication has significantly influenced the local community, chamber officials say.

“It’s a privilege to honor those who have played pivotal roles in making Scottsdale the vibrant city it is today,” said Mark Stanton, president & CEO of the chamber of commerce. “The legacy of these remarkable individuals and organizations is truly inspiring.”

The 2024 Scottsdale History Hall of Fame honorees include:

Jim Ford – Deputy Fire Chief Jim Ford’s illustrious 47-year career with the Scottsdale Fire Department showcases his unwavering commitment to fire safety. His groundbreaking research on automatic sprinkler ordinances has earned international recognition, making a profound impact on fire safety standards worldwide.

Jim Lane – Former Mayor Jim Lane’s visionary leadership has left an indelible mark on Scottsdale’s landscape. His instrumental contributions to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, ASU SkySong, and the Scottsdale Cure Corridor Initiative have helped shape the city’s future for generations to come.


Linda Milhaven – Linda Milhaven’s distinguished career in public service and banking exemplifies her dedication to Scottsdale’s prosperity. As a three-term City Council member and community leader, she has championed initiatives to enhance cultural enrichment and economic growth.

Raoul Zubia – Raoul Zubia’s tireless advocacy for Scottsdale’s welfare has earned him widespread admiration. From his philanthropic endeavors to his civic engagements, Raoul’s unwavering commitment to community service continues to uplift and inspire others.

Community Celebrating Diversity – CCD’s impactful efforts to promote diversity and inclusivity have enriched Scottsdale’s cultural fabric. Their flagship Martin Luther King Jr. event serves as a powerful testament to their mission of fostering unity and understanding within the community.

Nationwide – Nationwide’s longstanding commitment to Scottsdale’s well-being has been instrumental in shaping the city’s growth and development. Their philanthropic endeavors and community-focused initiatives have left an enduring legacy of corporate responsibility.

Also recognized as future history makers were the Scottsdale Rising Young Professionals (SRYP), whose dedication to community service and mentorship embodies the spirit of Scottsdale’s next generation of leaders.
