The Arizona Digital Free Press presents another in our new weekly restaurant features, coined “Adventures in Dining,” by Sabrina Hulse.
This week is The Buffalo Spot, 2837 N. Power Road, in Mesa, on the corner of McDowell and Power roads, in Mesa.
Ms. Hulse says, “I love trying new food places and I have challenged myself to try every food place in the Mesa boundary and share my finds with all of you.”
Check back every weekend for a new restaurant feature.

Of note: The Buffalo Spot has two locations in Mesa. The other is at 1660 W. Southern Ave.
She says:
The Buffalo Spot
Type: American
Location: Northeast corner of Power and McDowell.
Space: Good amount of seating. You order first and then sit down.
My Order: 15 Piece Traditional Wings – Flavors: Original Hot, Jamaican Jerk, Lemon Pepper Butter. Regular Buffalo Fries – Flavor: Pineapple Jalapeño.
Thoughts: The wings were delicious and big and full of meat, and I loved all the flavors I tried. I also tried someone’s Tropical Heat flavor, and it was also delicious. The buffalo fries with the pineapple jalapeño were my favorite — great flavor and lots of sauce that covers the fries as well. They also have shakes (we had a little taste of a Reese’s shake, super yummy).
Things to know: The restaurant closes at 9 p.m. but the dining area closes at 8:30 p.m. We didn’t get our food until 8:25 p.m. so we ended up eating outside at the Smashburger tables next door. It doesn’t say on the menu which of the flavors are dry rubs or not so maybe ask beforehand, having said that I don’t usually like dry rubs, but their dry rubs were just as good as their saucy ones.
Rating: 9 out of 10.
