Abrazo Health is now participating as an in-network provider with Banner Medicaid, also known as Banner–University Family Care, expanding care options for Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System members in metro Phoenix and surrounding communities.
The agreement allows Banner Medicaid members to receive care at participating Abrazo hospitals and physician practices, expanding access to services across the region, according to a press release.
Covered services include emergency care, inpatient services and medically necessary interfacility transfers. Abrazo Health officials said the participation is intended to improve continuity of care, particularly for patients requiring time-sensitive treatment.
“Our in-network participation with Banner Medicaid helps remove barriers to care and provides Banner Medicaid members with additional options,” said Brian Elisco, Arizona group chief executive officer for Abrazo Health.
“We are focused on supporting patients, referring facilities, and EMS partners with clear access pathways when time-sensitive care is needed,” Mr. Elisco said.
Abrazo Health emergency departments provide evaluation and stabilization services regardless of insurance status, in accordance with federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act requirements.
