A.R. Mays Construction has launched A.R. Mays Cares, a new community outreach and charitable giving program anchored by a $200,000 commitment to Child Crisis Arizona over the next five years.

The initiative coincides with the company’s 40th anniversary and will support several Arizona nonprofits serving children, families, students and individuals with developmental disabilities. The program’s lead commitment will help support Child Crisis Arizona’s efforts to provide safety, stability and opportunity for vulnerable children and families, according to a press release.

A.R. Mays Construction has supported Child Crisis Arizona for many years through its involvement with Whispering Hope Ranch in Payson, sponsorship of the organization’s annual Lunch for Love event and the service of A.R. Mays President Adam Mays on the organization’s board of directors.

“For 40 years, this company has been built on relationships and on doing things the right way. As an employee-owned firm, our people have always been at the center of that,” Adam Mays, president of A.R. Mays Construction, said. “A.R. Mays Cares gives our team a formal way to carry those values beyond the jobsite. Giving back has always been part of who we are. Now we’re putting structure behind it so our employees, partners, and clients can join us in supporting the organizations doing important work across Arizona. It was important to us that Child Crisis Arizona be at the center of this launch. Their team has been a partner of ours for a long time, and we’ve seen firsthand what their work means to kids and families in this community.”

“On behalf of Child Crisis Arizona, I want to personally congratulate Adam Mays and the entire A.R. Mays Construction team on 40 years in business and on the exciting launch of A.R. Mays Cares. It is wonderful to see a company with such a strong history of building in our community also investing in building brighter futures for children and families,” Torrie Taj, CEO of Child Crisis Arizona, said. “We are especially grateful for the Mays family’s longtime support of Whispering Hope Ranch and their belief that every child, regardless of ability, should have the opportunity to experience the magic of camp.

“Their considerable philanthropic investments have helped us continue expanding the Ranch with the highest-quality equipment and accessible features, including our pond and dock ‘Dock of Dreams,’ creating even more opportunities for children to explore, connect, have fun and simply be kids. We are also incredibly grateful for their support of our Lunch for Love event and for Adam’s leadership as a member of our Board. We look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership and working together to bring hope, opportunity and unforgettable childhood experiences to even more children each year,” Ms. Taj said.

In addition to Child Crisis Arizona, A.R. Mays Cares will support:

  • •Lauren’s Institute for Education (L.I.F.E.)
  • •Ak-Chin Indian Community
  • •Fore The Kids
  • •Tristan’s Trees
  • •ASU Foundation Scholarships

The Mays family also has committed $300,000 to Phoenix Children’s over the next five years to support programs benefiting Arizona children.

Beyond financial contributions, A.R. Mays Cares will organize employee volunteer opportunities and leverage the company’s construction expertise and industry relationships to assist partner organizations, according to a press release.
