Players, fans and families gather at Scottsdale Stadium during the seventh annual Western Wiffle Ball Classic, a daylong event featuring tournament play, entertainment and the popular Home Run Derby. What began as informal backyard competition has grown into a nationally recognized Wiffle ball event that attracts competitors and spectators from across the country. Held at the spring training home of the San Francisco Giants, the Classic includes Open and Pro division competition, fan activities and a revamped Home Run Derby that offers participants a chance to compete for a $1,000 grand prize. Organizers say the event continues to expand its reach through online videos, livestreams and a growing national following.
