Abrazo West Campus and Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital have unveiled The Nest, a unified name, updated design and care approach representing expanded women’s and neonatal services across both hospitals.
The Nest brings together pregnancy, birth and postpartum services designed to support women, infants and families from pre‑delivery through recovery and discharge, according to a press release.
The newly branded program features family‑centered environments intended to provide clinical care in a calm, supportive setting. Interior updates include softer colors and imagery aimed at creating a welcoming atmosphere from arrival through discharge.
Across both campuses, The Nest includes:
Private labor and delivery suites
Wireless fetal monitoring
AquaDoula water birthing options at Abrazo West Campus
Breastfeeding education and lactation consultations
Support before, during and after pregnancy
24/7 OB hospitalist coverage
24/7 neonatal coverage
Sleep accommodations for family members and support persons
Family‑centered amenities designed to encourage bonding and recovery
Neonatal services are a central component of The Nest, particularly for families facing premature birth or medical complications. The program integrates neonatal intensive care services with environments designed to support emotional wellbeing and parent‑infant bonding.
“It’s more than just a physical space, The Nest reflects Abrazo Health’s deep commitment to improving maternal and neonatal outcomes while honoring the family’s emotional journey,” Brian Elisco, Arizona Group CEO of Abrazo Health, said. “We created The Nest with this understanding — that clinical excellence must come with compassion, comfort, and emotional support.”
The Nest reflects a broader investment in maternal and neonatal care across the Valley. At Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital, recent investments include a $14 million NICU expansion completed in 2023, which increased care capacity for newborns in the Northwest Valley.
Abrazo West Campus has also expanded maternal‑child services, completing a $415,000 renovation of its labor and delivery department in 2024.
“By uniting women’s services under one cohesive brand, The Nest, Abrazo Health ensures families have access to advanced medical care paired with meaningful emotional support in one appropriate setting, meaning access to the physical and emotional support necessary for a positive hospital experience and memories of a lifetime,” Stephen Garner, CEO of Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital, said.
