The Maricopa County Home and Garden Show has been named a recipient of the Public Awareness Award by the Arizona State Floral Association.
The award recognizes the show’s ongoing use of fresh flowers from local vendors to promote public appreciation of floral beauty and impact, according to a press release.
The floral display was featured earlier this year at the Home and Flower Show, held at WestWorld of Scottsdale, which is billed as Arizona’s only flower show.
“We are honored to receive this award from such a respected organization,” said Home Show event coordinator Brianna Sparks. “ASFA’s recognition means a great deal to our team and vendors. The Public Awareness Award reminds us of the positive role events like the floral showcase play in bringing beauty, connection and inspiration to our community.”
Each year, the Arizona State Floral Association selects a non-floral business or organization for the Public Awareness Award, recognizing those that consistently and meaningfully incorporate fresh flowers into their public-facing efforts. Past recipients include Phoenix Home & Garden magazine, Cartier, the Phoenix Art Museum and the Arizona Cardinals.
As this year’s honoree, the Home and Flower Show featured more than 1,000 home improvement vendor booths and offered educational opportunities led by garden experts.
“Their addition of a floral showcase to the spring show exposed thousands of attendees to the vibrant beauty of fresh, locally grown flowers,” said ASFA Director Jennifer Hankins. “Through exhibits, displays, educational sessions and pop-up retail, the Maricopa County Home Show makes flowers an interactive experience for the public.”
