Scottsdale Charros ride into Old Town Saturday, Nov. 18

The Scottsdale Charros will be out in force on horseback in Old Town Scottsdale on Saturday, Nov. 18, to promote Spring Training Baseball.

On “Blitz Day,” the Charros visit nearly every local business in old town to share the game schedule and present opportunities for advertising, sponsorships, and partnerships. Locals and tourists also enjoy Blitz Day.

“We ride in our full Charros western regalia which draws a lot of attention and requests for photos,” said Charros Baseball Chairman Derek Flottum.

Mr. Flottum says he expects huge turnouts at this year’s baseball games in the heart of Scottsdale.

“We have one of the best schedules in recent years,” said Mr. Flottum. “Thirteen of our 15 home games begin at 1 pm, including St. Patrick’s Day. There is nothing better than a sunny Scottsdale afternoon at the ballpark!”

Spring training baseball is the premier annual fundraising event for the Charros. Funds raised through the sale of Charro Lodge passes, stadium and magazine advertising, and sponsorships are donated to local nonprofit organizations and schools.

The Scottsdale Charros donated more than $20 million back to the community through grants and donations to local nonprofits and schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District.
