The Tempe Diablos raised $343,000 to support community programs in Tempe during their Ignite the Night fundraiser held at Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass.
The event, which drew more than 600 attendees and coincided with the LPGA Ford Championship, served as the organization’s signature fundraising celebration and its official off-course event for tournament week, according to a press release.
Ignite the Night connected LPGA competition at Whirlwind Golf Club with the Tempe Diablos’ mission of community service. The Diablos are in their fourth year working with the LPGA and now serve as a founding partner of the Ford Championship, a role that expands their involvement during tournament week.
The event featured a “Back to the 80s” theme, live music from The Spazmatics and a silent auction with more than 110 items. Proceeds contributed to the total funds raised during the evening.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support from our guests, sponsors and partners who helped make Ignite the Night such a success,” said Vince Vasquez, president of the Tempe Diablos. “We’re excited for what the future holds with our relationship with the LPGA and building opportunities that make a lasting difference across Tempe.”
Funds raised through Ignite the Night will support the Tempe Diablos’ ongoing work with youth programs, education initiatives and local nonprofit organizations through grants and scholarships.
