T.W. Lewis Foundation, which was founded by Tom Lewis, initiated an online giving campaign last month to help meet the needs of five local nonprofit organizations during the Christmas season.
Specifically, the organization raised funds to help St. Vincent De Paul feed the hungry, Phoenix Rescue Mission provide wellness kits to homeless, The Foster Alliance supply essential clothing for foster children, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation assist women with urgent needs, and Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation provide groceries for foster families, according to a press release.
The foundation kicked off this campaign by donating approximately $50,000 collectively to these nonprofits on Dec. 4, which was also the day the social media fundraising began. When the campaign ended, a total of $51,726 was collected online, matching what the foundation gave, the release states.
“It was amazing to see the generosity of Arizonans who contributed to these great organizations and helped with their Christmas needs” said Steve Smith, executive director of T.W. Lewis Foundation.
“The need is always higher during the holidays, so we are very grateful to those that joined us in helping with this worthy cause.”
